When a Single-Punch Press Is the Right Call

You're still developing the formulation. The TDP-0 lets you test different powders, weights, and compression forces at minimum cost and batch size — as small as 200 g when paired with a small mixer. You're learning how the formulation behaves, not producing volume.

You're running small or mid-size batches. The TDP-1.5 (up to 5,400 tablets/hr, 15 kN) and TDP-5 (up to 4,800 tablets/hr, 50 kN, tablets up to 20mm) both cover real commercial production without rotary-scale complexity or cost.

Space and capital are limited. A single-punch press has a smaller footprint and a lower upfront cost, leaving more capital for formulation development, packaging, and sales — the areas that actually determine whether a new product finds demand.

When a Rotary Press Makes Sense

A rotary press becomes cost-justified once:

  • Production volume is high and established — not projected
  • The product runs continuously rather than in scheduled batches
  • Your facility and staffing can support the added mechanical complexity
